What Is EX-13: Chivalrous XIII?

EX-13: Extra Booster Chivalrous XIII is the most ambitious Royal Knights set in Digimon TCG history. While previous sets have included individual Royal Knights or focused on specific members like Jesmon and Alphamon, Chivalrous XIII brings all thirteen Royal Knights together in a single product — each with their own support cards, deck strategy, and a unique alt-art treatment.

The name “Chivalrous XIII” refers directly to the thirteen members of the Royal Knights — the elite group of Mega Digimon who serve as guardians of the Digital World. This set is built to let players build a deck around any of the thirteen members, creating genuine variety within a single themed set.

Tying the set together are two iconic character Tamer cards: Nokia Shiramine from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (who famously befriended both Agumon and Gabumon, eventually raising Omnimon) and Rina Shinomiya from Digimon World Re:Digitize. Both characters have deep lore connections to the Royal Knights and serve as the deck’s human anchors.

🏆 Why This Set Is Special

This is the first time all 13 Royal Knights have been in the same set with dedicated deck-building support. Previous Royal Knights coverage was spread across BT-06, BT-09, BT-13, and BT-23. EX-13 pulls it all together and gives every Knight their own competitive identity.

All 13 Royal Knights in EX-13

Every Royal Knight is represented in EX-13 with new cards, support pieces, and luxurious alt-art versions. Here is the full lineup with their roles in the set:

Omnimon

Set Leader — Dual Color Red/Blue

The Royal Knights’ strongest member and the de facto leader of the set. Omnimon’s deck in EX-13 uses a fusion of Red and Blue to combine aggressive attacking with protective effects.

Alphamon

Control Specialist

The Royal Knight of Empty Seat. Alphamon’s deck is a control build that removes threats systematically using [On Play] deletion and board-clearing Option effects.

Jesmon

Multi-Color Aggro

The Parallel World Tactician leads a multi-color aggressive strategy supported by the Sistermon network. EX-13 expands the Sistermon engine for the first time since BT-13.

ULForceVeedramon

Speed — Reboot King

The fastest Royal Knight. ULForceVeedramon’s deck uses Reboot and evasion mechanics to attack repeatedly every turn. Nokia is the Tamer of choice here given her in-lore connection.

Gallantmon

Red Security Aggro

The Crimson Knight. Gallantmon builds push security from multiple angles using Piercing and Storm. Strong synergy with existing Guilmon chain support.

Dynasmon

Wyvern’s Breath Control

Uses Blast Digivolve and conditional DP reduction. Dynasmon is one of the lesser-played Royal Knights — EX-13 is his chance to establish a genuine competitive identity.

Craniamon

Void Shield Defensive Build

The ultimate defensive Royal Knight. Craniamon’s Void Shield cannot be targeted by Tamers or Options — EX-13 builds out the defensive strategy with board-wide protection layers.

LordKnightmon

Pink Security Control

The Peerless Knight builds security stacks while dismantling opponent boards. Strong anti-aggro utility and one of the more unique color identities in the Royal Knights lineup.

Duftmon

Green Tactician Build

The Leopard Knight uses board assessment and conditional DP reduction. Green Royal Knights is a niche space EX-13 develops with new Option cards.

Gankoomon

Toughen the Rookie Engine

Gankoomon’s signature mechanic raises Digimon from lower levels and Toughens them. One of the most interesting deck-building challenges in EX-13.

Examon

Dragon King Long-Range

The Dragon Emperor Royal Knight. Examon’s pierce-from-security style gets new tools in EX-13. Rina Shinomiya connects here given Examon’s Digimon World lore.

Kentaurosmon / Sleipmon

Frozen Gate Blocker

One of the most confirmed cards in EX-13 based on official art reveals. Kentaurosmon uses Blocker and Freeze effects to lock down opponent boards.

Magnamon

Miracle Boy Comeback

Magnamon’s signature Miracle power triggers from losing security. A comeback-mechanic build that gets stronger as it takes damage.

New Card Debuts in EX-13

Beyond the Royal Knights themselves, EX-13 introduces several new and long-awaited Digimon to the card game:

Confirmed New Debut — Lv.7

Amnion Merciful Mode

★★★★★

Amnion Merciful Mode is one of the most significant new debuts in EX-13. The Merciful Mode transformation is a legendary form from Digimon lore that represents a Royal Knight at their most powerful and compassionate simultaneously. Competitively, Merciful Mode Digimon have historically featured powerful board-wide effects rather than individual targeting — expect this card to have an effect that impacts all Digimon on the field.

▶ Major debut. Expect UR or SEC rarity. High collector and competitive demand.

Confirmed New Debut — Mega

King Etemon

★★★★☆

King Etemon has been fan-requested for the card game since the English launch. The self-proclaimed King of Rock ’n’ Roll is a comedic villain character from Digimon Adventure who wields Dark Network powers. In the card game, King Etemon is expected to disrupt opponent setups while generating resources — a trickster build that fits the character’s personality perfectly.

▶ Long-awaited debut. Fan favorite character finally joins the card game.

Confirmed via Official Art Reveal

Kentaurosmon / Sleipmon

★★★★★

Seen in the first official art reveal for EX-13 alongside ULForceVeedramon and Rina Shinomiya. Kentaurosmon (known as Sleipmon in Japanese) is the Royal Knight of the Frozen Gate, wielding Niflheimr. His Blocker and freeze-based abilities make him one of the most defensively powerful Royal Knights and a confirmed centerpiece of the set.

▶ Confirmed in reveal art. Royal Knights defensive anchor.

Tamer Card — Cyber Sleuth

Nokia Shiramine

★★★★☆

The protagonist of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth who raised both Omnimon and other Royal Knights throughout the game. Nokia as a Tamer card brings synergy for multi-color Royal Knight builds — expect effects around drawing cards and reducing digivolution costs for [Royal Knight] trait Digimon.

▶ Confirmed Tamer. Key engine piece for Nokia-flavored Omnimon and multi-color builds.

Tamer Card — Digimon World

Rina Shinomiya

★★★★☆

Rina is the partner Tamer of Examon in Digimon World Re:Digitize. As a Tamer card she is expected to support Examon-centric builds and potentially other Dragon-type Royal Knights. The pairing of Nokia and Rina gives EX-13 two strong Tamer options covering different playstyles.

▶ Confirmed Tamer. Core piece for Examon and Dragon-type Royal Knight builds.

The 13 Alt-Art Royal Knight Cards

The most unique feature of EX-13 is the guaranteed alt-art treatment for all 13 Royal Knights. These are described as “luxurious alt-art cards with low pull rates” — meaning they are not regular alt-arts but premium treatments more comparable to SP or SEC rarity in visual quality. For Royal Knights collectors, these 13 cards represent the most complete alt-art Royal Knight lineup ever assembled in a single product.

📈 Collector Outlook

With 13 alt-art Royal Knight cards at low pull rates plus 3 URs and 2 SRs, EX-13 has one of the most collector-focused rarity distributions of any Digimon TCG Extra Booster. Players who want specific alt-arts should target singles rather than cracking boxes to chase specific Knights.
