Digimon BT-27 Preview — What We Know About the August 29 Set

Digimon BT-27 releases in Japan on August 29, 2026, which puts the English release on track for early 2027 based on Bandai’s typical localization schedule. But Japanese releases tell us a lot about what’s coming — and here’s everything confirmed so far.

What We Know About BT-27

BT-27 follows the confirmed 2026 Digimon TCG release roadmap: BT-25 in May, BT-26 in August (Japanese), BT-27 in December (Japanese), with BT-28 slated for March 2027. The English localization of BT-26 hits September 4, 2026, so BT-27 Japanese gives us a preview of what the EN card pool will look like roughly six months out.

Full card reveals for BT-27 are expected closer to the August 29 Japanese launch. We’ll update this post as official reveals drop.

What BT-26 Timeless Bonds Tells Us

Before looking ahead to BT-27, it’s worth understanding where the game is coming from. BT-26 Timeless Bonds launched in Japan June 19 and hits English on September 4, 2026. It’s been well-received for its focus on cross-generational Digimon connections and Dual Cards — the double-sided mechanic introduced in BT-25 that continues to expand the format.

BT-27 will build on the Dual Card system further. Based on the roadmap announcements, expect BT-27 to continue expanding the Dual mechanic while introducing new Digimon lines.

Upcoming Events to Know

While waiting for BT-27, there are active events and releases happening right now:

• Tamer Battle August 2026 — in-store Tamer Battle events are running through August. Check your local game store for event dates.
• BT-26 Timeless Bonds EN Release — September 4, 2026. If you haven’t pre-ordered, now is the time.

When Will BT-27 Release in English?

Based on current EN localization timing, BT-27 Japanese (August 29) puts the English release on a projected timeline of late 2026 or early 2027. Bandai has been running approximately 3–4 months between Japanese and English releases in recent sets. We’ll post a confirmed EN date as soon as it’s official.

What to Do Right Now

If you’re active in the Digimon TCG, the focus right now is BT-26 EN preparation and the current BT-25 competitive format. BT-27 is worth watching, but BT-26 is what defines the game in the next 90 days.
