The BT-26 Meta: What Changed?

BT-26 Timeless Bonds is not just a new set — it is a meta reset. The introduction of Dual Card Olympos XII, Succession keyword Jupitermon, Chronomon: Destroy Mode, and the upgraded Glowing Dawn and Data Squad packages fundamentally changed what is viable in competitive Digimon TCG. Some EX-12 Tier S decks have held their ground. Others have been pushed down by new counters.

The biggest story of the BT-26 meta is Jupitermon’s rise to Tier S. The Succession keyword on the SEC Jupitermon creates a board state that prior formats had no answer for. Simultaneously, Chronomon: Destroy Mode is already placing at locals and regionals as a new disruptive force, and Rosemon: Burst Mode Data Squad is converting from a fun archetype to a genuine meta threat.

⚠ Early Meta Caveat

BT-26 has only been legal for ~2 weeks as of this report. Tier lists shift as players refine lists and develop counter-strategies. We will update this list again in November once the format has stabilized. Treat this as the early-meta picture, not the definitive answer.

Tier S

Jupitermon / Olympos XII (Succession Build)

Win Rate

68.2%

Meta %

8.1%

Jupitermon with the new Succession keyword is the defining deck of BT-26. SEC Jupitermon’s Recovery +2 on digivolution plus Counter recovery and an All Turns lockout creates a board state opponents cannot profitably attack. Aegiochusmon: Holy provides protection from Chronomon: Destroy Mode specifically. The Dual Card mechanic gives the deck incredible flexibility — every card slot serves double duty as either a Digimon or an Option depending on game state. Best deck in the format.

Tier S

BeelStarmon / Three Musketeers

Win Rate

65.1%

Meta %

5.8%

1sts

28

BeelStarmon carried over from EX-12 and remains Tier S. The Tamer disruption engine is even more relevant in BT-26 where opponent resource generation through Tamers is universal across the new archetypes. Chronomon: Destroy Mode is its hardest matchup, but experienced pilots know to play around Destroy Mode’s digivolution strip by keeping stacks lean. Still a legitimate tournament choice.

Tier S

Chronomon: Destroy Mode

Win Rate

63.7%

Meta %

4.2%

Brand new archetype debuting in BT-26 and already placing in Tier S. Chronomon: Destroy Mode’s ability to return digivolution cards to deck strips inherited effects from stacked evolutions — the defining strategy of the BT-25/EX-12 format. Effective against BeelStarmon, Toho Braves, and Jupitermon stacks alike. Chronomon: Holy Mode’s Piercing + Engage provides the offensive pressure. Hardest to counter in the format because it attacks fundamentally different game elements from either player’s hand.

Tier S

Rosemon: Burst Mode / Data Squad

Win Rate

62.4%

Meta %

3.9%

1sts

17

The 0-cost Burst Digivolve Rosemon: Burst Mode line has immediately established itself as a Tier S strategy. Returning Yoshino Fujieda to hand for a free Lv.7 that suspends the opponent’s entire board is simply too powerful an action for 0 memory. The board freeze locks opponents from digivolving or unsuspending, enabling free attacks through an unresisted field. 17 first place finishes in two weeks confirms this is not a fluke — it is the real deal.

Tier A

Glowing Dawn BeatBreak (BT-26 Upgraded)

Win Rate

57.3%

Meta %

9.4%

1sts

33

Glowing Dawn was Tier B in EX-12 due to linearity. BT-26 changes that. Pristimon’s dual search fixes the hand consistency issues that held the deck back, and Bearcatmon’s effect immunity + unsuspend trigger turns the deck’s old weakness (opponent Tamer disruption) into a strength. Still not Tier S — the deck’s ceiling is lower than Jupitermon or Rosemon — but Tier A is a significant upgrade. Best budget-competitive deck in BT-26.

Tier A

Toho Braves

Win Rate

58.1%

Meta %

6.3%

1sts

22

The EX-12 format winner has settled comfortably into Tier A in BT-26. No direct upgrades from BT-26, but the Sanmyojin engine’s consistency keeps it competitive. Primary weakness is the new Chronomon: Destroy Mode which strips the digivolution stack the deck relies on. Players are adapting with leaner stacks and faster pressure.

Tier A

Vulcanusmon

Win Rate

57.8%

Meta %

3.6%

1sts

14

Vulcanusmon’s unconditional deletion remains powerful in BT-26. The deck has a natural favorable matchup against Glowing Dawn BeatBreak and holds even against Jupitermon. Still underplayed (3.6% meta share vs its actual power level) — a persistent sleeper pick.

Tier A

Alphamon / Royal Knights (EX-13 preview)

Win Rate

61.5%

Meta %

2.1%

1sts

9

Early adopters building Alphamon from EX-13 preview singles are already topping in BT-26 format events. Alphamon’s permanent Tamer lockout is devastating in a meta that depends on Tamer engines (Jupitermon, Data Squad, BeelStarmon all use Tamers heavily). Expect this number to rise significantly once EX-13 releases officially October 2.

Tier B

Glowing Dawn BeatBreak (BT-25 Version)

Win Rate

53.4%

Meta %

7.2%

1sts

18

Players still running the pre-BT-26 Glowing Dawn list without Pristimon and Bearcatmon are finding it increasingly outclassed. The BT-26 upgrade path is affordable — if you are still on the old list, upgrade now.

Tier B

Saiyu Warriors

Win Rate

52.1%

Meta %

4.8%

1sts

10

EX-12 native archetype loses some ground in BT-26. No direct upgrades and the Assembly mechanic has not found new synergies in the new set. Still viable at locals but falling behind the top decks.

Tier B

ShineGreymon / Data Squad (BT-25 Version)

Win Rate

51.8%

Meta %

2.4%

1sts

7

Pre-Rosemon Data Squad players are finding the format passed them by. The Rosemon: Burst Mode upgrade is mandatory for this deck to remain competitive. The good news: it’s one Super Rare away from being Tier S.

Tier C

Medusamon Dragonkin

Win Rate

47.2%

Meta %

3.1%

1sts

4

Medusamon continues its struggle from EX-12. Chronomon: Destroy Mode is an especially bad matchup — stripping the digivolution stack that Medusamon’s Progress engine depends on. Fun at locals, but difficult at high-level events.

Tier C

Millenniummon

Win Rate

58.9%

Meta %

0.8%

1sts

3

Small sample size but still elite numbers. Millenniummon remains the perfect counter to BeelStarmon. If your locals are BeelStarmon-heavy, this is your dark horse pick.

Why These Decks Are Winning in BT-26

The BT-26 meta is more diverse than EX-12 but has a clearer hierarchy. Two key patterns explain the Tier S dominance:

What Tier S Does

+Free or discounted Lv.7 plays (Rosemon: Burst Mode, Jupitermon Dual)

+Recovery generation that keeps security stacks large

+Effect immunity or effect-proof positioning

+Answers to opponent Tamers (stripping resources)

+Flexible dual-function cards that serve multiple roles

What Loses in BT-26

−Decks with deep digivolution stacks vulnerable to Destroy Mode

−Linear strategies without disruptive interaction

−Builds dependent on Tamer chains without protection

−Slow Lv.7 paths that cost 5+ memory

−Decks that did not receive BT-26 upgrades

🏆 Best Deck to Build Right Now

If you want to win at locals: Rosemon: Burst Mode Data Squad. One Super Rare transforms an existing ST-24 Data Squad build into a Tier S strategy. Most affordable path to the top of the meta. If you want the highest ceiling: Jupitermon with the full SEC Jupitermon setup. Highest win rate in the format. Larger investment but the best deck.
