EX-13 Chivalrous XIII: What Is in This Set?

EX-13: Extra Booster Chivalrous XIII is the Royal Knights set Digimon TCG players have been requesting since the game launched in 2020. Every single one of the 13 Royal Knights receives their own card, their own support evolution line, their own Tamer card from connected lore, and a luxurious alt-art parallel with low pull rates. The result is the most collector-focused Extra Booster the game has ever produced.

The full set contains 164 cards total: 81 base card types plus 20 alternate arts, 15 rare pulls, 6 box toppers, 4 special rares, and multiple LU/LC parallels. The two Secret Rares — Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode and Omnimon: Merciful Mode — are first-time card game debuts for both legendary forms.

📈 Box EV Estimate

A box of EX-13 at MSRP ($119.76) should yield approximately: 1 Secret Rare (guaranteed rotation between Imperialdramon PM and Omnimon MM), 8-10 Super Rares covering most Royal Knights, 1 UR from the Jesmon/UlforceVeedramon/Alphamon pool, 2-3 Alt Arts, and 1 Box Topper. The guaranteed SEC per box is the highest floor EV of any current Digimon TCG product.

The Two Secret Rares: Complete Breakdown

EX-13 contains two Secret Rares — both first-time card game debuts. These are the chase cards of the set and the primary driver of box demand.

Secret Rare
EX13-077

Omnimon: Merciful Mode

★★★★★

[Lv.7] [When Digivolving] For each [Royal Knights] trait Digimon in your battle area and security: +1000 DP to this Digimon for the turn. Delete all opponent Digimon with DP equal to or less than this Digimon’s DP. [All Turns] This Digimon is unaffected by opponent’s effects. [When Attacking] Recovery +1.

▶ Omnimon: Merciful Mode is the set centerpiece. Board-wide deletion scaled to your Royal Knight presence, effect immunity, and Recovery on attack. The DP scaling means a board of 3-4 Royal Knights can push Omnimon MM above 20,000 DP before the deletion trigger fires — removing virtually everything. Effect immunity makes it immune to Chronomon: Destroy Mode, Vulcanusmon, and other common removal tools. The most powerful card in EX-13.

Secret Rare
EX13-076

Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode

★★★★★

[Lv.7] [When Digivolving] Return all opponent’s Digimon to the bottom of their deck in any order. [All Turns] This Digimon gains Piercing. [Your Turn][Once Per Turn] When this Digimon attacks and deletes an opponent’s Digimon, this Digimon unsuspends.

▶ Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode is the offensive counterpart to Omnimon MM. A When Digivolving board wipe (return to deck, not trash — bypassing replacement effects), Piercing on all attacks, and unsuspend after a kill means it can attack through an entire opponent board in a single turn. The return-to-deck effect is especially powerful against decks that recover from trash. One of the strongest offensive Lv.7 effects ever printed.

⚡ Which SEC to Chase

Omnimon: Merciful Mode is the more broadly powerful card — effect immunity and scaled deletion works in any Royal Knights build. Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode is the better offensive finisher. Both are chase targets. If you open one, congratulations — MSRP box value is likely covered.

The Three Ultimate Rares

Ultimate Rare
EX13-014

Jesmon

★★★★★

[Lv.7] [When Digivolving] For each Sistermon in your digivolution cards or battle area, play 1 Sistermon Noir (Awakened) from your hand or trash for free. [All Turns] For each [Royal Knights] trait Digimon in your battle area, this Digimon gains +1000 DP and Reboot.

▶ Jesmon UR is the Jesmon players have been asking for. Free Sistermon plays on digivolution scales the board rapidly, and DP scaling + Reboot for each Royal Knight in the battle area makes Jesmon essentially unremovable by battle once 3-4 Knights are present. The Sistermon Noir (Awakened) from EX13-066 provides the engine trigger. This is Jesmon’s best card ever printed.

Ultimate Rare
EX13-023

UlforceVeedramon

★★★★★

[Lv.7] [All Turns] This Digimon cannot be targeted by opponent’s Tamer or Option card effects. [Your Turn] This Digimon can attack unsuspended Digimon. [When Attacking] If this Digimon destroys an opponent’s Digimon in battle, it may attack once more.

▶ UlforceVeedramon has always been the speed Royal Knight, and this version delivers the definitive version. Full effect immunity from Tamers/Options, can attack into unsuspended Digimon (bypassing Reboot), and double attack on kill. Against defensive boards that rely on Reboot this is backbreaking. Pairs with Rina Shinomiya Tamer for reduced cost.

Ultimate Rare
EX13-060

Alphamon

★★★★★

[Lv.7] [When Digivolving] Trash all of one opponent’s Digimon’s digivolution cards. Then return that Digimon to the bottom of the opponent’s deck. [All Turns] Your opponent cannot play Tamers. [Your Turn][Once Per Turn] When one of your [Royal Knights] Digimon is destroyed, you may play Alphamon from your hand for free.

▶ Alphamon UR is one of the most oppressive control Digimon ever printed. Stripping digivolution cards removes inherited effects, then bouncing the naked Digimon to deck removes it from play without allowing trash recovery. Blocking opponent Tamers permanently removes their resource generation. And a free revival trigger when any Royal Knight is destroyed makes Alphamon nearly impossible to remove profitably.

Super Rare Rankings: All 12 Royal Knights

Every Royal Knight in EX-13 is a Super Rare or higher. Here are the 12 SRs ranked by competitive power in the current BT-26 meta:

Magnamon SR

S Tier

Miracle power comeback mechanic + immunity aura. Best SR in the set for competitive play.

Gallantmon SR

S Tier

Piercing + Storm + Guilmon chain synergy. Immediate security pressure. Top competitive SR.

Kentaurosmon SR

A Tier

Blocker + Frozen Gate freeze. Shuts down opponent attack phases completely when set up.

Dynasmon SR

A Tier

Blast Digivolve + conditional DP reduction. Fastest Royal Knight to field. Underrated.

Craniamon SR

A Tier

Void Shield — cannot be targeted by Tamers or Options. Ultimate defensive Royal Knight.

Gankoomon SR

A Tier

Toughens Rookies entering the battle area. Board-wide +2000 DP buff scales with board size.

Leopardmon SR

B Tier

Board assessment + DP reduction. Excellent in mirrors. Needs specific meta conditions.

LordKnightmon SR

B Tier

Security control + board disruption. Strong but requires dedicated Pink build support.

Examon SR

B Tier

Pierce-from-security long range. Strong with Rina Shinomiya Tamer. Niche but effective.

KingEtemon SR

C Tier

Fun disruptive tech card. Competitive ceiling limited but a beloved debut for King fans.

PrinceMamemon SR

C Tier

Support card for broader Mamemon builds. Not a Royal Knight but fills EX-13 thematically.

Omnimon SR

B Tier

The non-SEC Omnimon version. Solid Lv.7 but outshone by Omnimon: Merciful Mode SEC.

Tamer Cards: The Lore Connections

EX-13 includes the most comprehensive Tamer lineup of any Extra Booster. Every Tamer connects directly to one or more Royal Knights through game, anime, or manga lore.

EX13-067 — Rare

Nokia Shiramine

Raised both Agumon & Gabumon into Omnimon. [On Play] Reduces cost of your next [Royal Knights] digivolution by 3. Pairs with any Royal Knight but especially Omnimon lines.

EX13-069 — Rare

Rina Shinomiya

Examon’s partner in Digimon World Re:Digitize. [On Play] When your Examon attacks this turn, it may attack once more. Core piece for Examon builds.

EX13-068 — Uncommon

Takato Matsuki

Guilmon’s partner and Gallantmon’s Tamer connection. Reduces Gallantmon digivolution cost. Guilmon box topper connects directly.

EX13-073 — Rare

Tai Kamiya & Matt Ishida

The ultimate Omnimon Tamer duo. Both partners united. Provides DP bonus and security protection for Omnimon.

EX13-070 — Uncommon

Davis Motomiya & Ken Ichijoji

Veemon/Wormmon partners. Connects to Magnamon through Davis & the Digimon Adventure 02 plot. Reduces digivolution costs in Golden Digimentals builds.

EX13-071 — Uncommon

Richard Sampson

DATS commander and connection to Kota Domoto. Provides resource generation for multi-Royal-Knights boards.

EX13-072 — Uncommon

Kota Domoto

From Digimon World Re:Digitize. Examon support alongside Rina. Double Examon Tamer setup enables consistent double-attack turns.

EX13-074 — Uncommon

Rie Kishibe

Cyber Sleuth villain-turned-ally. Nokia Shiramine’s counterpart in the story. Removes opponent Tamers when your Royal Knights attack.

🏆 Best Tamer Combo

Nokia Shiramine + Tai Kamiya & Matt Ishida is the strongest two-Tamer opening in EX-13. Nokia reduces the first Royal Knight digivolution cost by 3, and Tai & Matt provide DP buff and security protection for Omnimon. Combined with Omnimon: Merciful Mode, this creates a turn-3 Lv.7 line consistently.

Collector’s Corner: The Alt Art Royal Knights

Each of the 13 Royal Knights receives a luxurious alternate art parallel card with low pull rates. These are not cosmetic recolors — they are entirely new artwork pieces with low pull rates approaching Special Rare territory. For Royal Knights collectors, completing this 13-card alt-art set is the defining chase goal of EX-13.

Pull rate estimate: Approximately 2-3 alt arts per box based on the set’s total distribution. Completing the full 13-card alt-art Royal Knights set will require either 4-5 boxes or targeted singles purchases. The Omnimon, Alphamon, and Jesmon alt arts are expected to be the highest-demand pieces given those cards’ competitive and collector appeal.

EX-13 Chivalrous XIII: Final Verdict

EX-13 earns its 9.2/10 rating by doing exactly what it promised: a complete, definitive Royal Knights product with no corners cut. Every Knight is present. Every major lore Tamer is here. The two Secret Rares are first-time debut cards that players have wanted for years. The alt-art set is beautiful. And the box value — with a guaranteed Secret Rare — is among the strongest floor EVs in current Digimon TCG sealed product.

The only limitation is audience: if you have no interest in Royal Knights archetypes, there is limited crossover value here. EX-13 is a set for Royal Knights players and collectors. For that audience, it is close to a perfect set.
