⚡ BT-25 Dual Revolution: The Mechanic That Changes Everything

Booster Set 25, Dual Revolution, is the biggest mechanical shift the Digimon Card Game has seen since launch. If you play competitively or even casually, this is the set you need to understand.

What Are Dual Cards?

A Dual Card is a single physical card that carries two different card categories on the same card. One side functions as an Option card effect; the other side operates as a different category (typically a Digimon or Tamer). When you play it, you choose which function to use based on your current game state.

This also introduces Arts Digivolve — a new digivolution trigger tied to the Dual Card’s secondary function. A single card slot in your deck can now serve two strategic roles depending on what you need that turn.

🎯 Why This Matters

Deck building in Digimon TCG just became more complex in the best possible way. A well-built Dual Card deck can respond to situations that previously required carrying two different card types. Bandai deliberately cleared the April 2026 restriction list to give this mechanic room to breathe.

What Comes With BT-25?

BT-25 releases alongside Starter Deck ST-23: Digimon BeatBreak and Starter Deck ST-24: Digimon Data Squad/Savers. Both starter decks are built around the Dual Card mechanic and serve as the best introduction to the new system.

If you’re new to the Digimon Card Game or returning after a break, the ST-24 Digimon Data Squad starter is particularly recommended — the Savers/Data Squad lineup (Agumon, Gaomon, Lalamon) is iconic, and the deck teaches Dual Cards from the ground up.

🚚 What Should You Actually Buy?

With this many sets available, it helps to have a priority list. Here is our honest recommendation based on value, playability, and competitive relevance as of June 2026:

1

ST-24 Digimon Data Squad (BT-25 era)

Best starter deck available right now. Teaches the Dual Card mechanic, iconic Savers/Data Squad lineup, under $20. Start here if you’re new.

2

AD-01 Advanced Booster Digimon Generation

The best value sealed product in years. 171 reprints of high-demand cards means you’re almost guaranteed to pull cards worth more than pack price. Singles from this set are already moving fast.

3

EX-12 Digital World Shambala (July 3)

The next upcoming release. Ghost Game 5th anniversary support, Dual Card expansion, and SeitenGokuumon’s card debut. Pre-order before it sells out.

4

BT-25 Dual Revolution

Required if you play competitively. Dual Cards are the new format — every future set will build on this mechanic. Grab a box or at minimum pull singles for your main deck archetype.

5

BT-26 Timeless Bonds (September 4)

Watch this space. Chronomon: Holy Mode and Rosemon: Burst Mode confirmed. If either fits your deck strategy, set a reminder for pre-orders.
